LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — Kawasaki Jet Ski® watercraft riders shined at the 24th International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) World Finals of personal watercraft racing, held October 11-16. Regarded as the most prestigious personal watercraft event in the world, the IJSBA World Finals brings together elite racers from over 40 countries to compete for world championship titles.
Kawasaki-sponsored riders Dustin Motzouris (South Africa), Steven Dauliach (France) and Victor Sheldon (U.S.A.) dominated the Pro Ski Class, placing 1st, 2nd and 4th, respectively. Motzouris battled former World Champion Dauliach through all three motos of the race to finish 1-2-1, claiming a well-deserved win. Motzouris achieved his victory on a Kawasaki 800 SX-R™ prepared by Jet Ski Unlimited Racing.
Kawasaki showed its strength in the Pro Ski class, with nine out of the top 10 racers riding Kawasaki Jet Ski watercraft, led by Motzouris and Dauliach, who placed first and second respectively. Chris MacCluggage finished third and Sheldon placed fourth.
In the Pro Runabout 1200 class, Kawasaki rider Dustin Farthing (U.S.A.) finished 2nd overall behind Yamaha-mounted winner Nicolas Rius. Farthing was off to a strong start in the first moto on his STX®-15F but dropped back to ninth due to technical problems. In Motos 2 and 3, Farthing took the holeshot in both races and led from start to finish, with an overall finish of 9-1-1.
