2/21/2007
The snow is deep and so is the Hentges talent! - Brett Bender and Chris Kafka teamed up at the WPSA Eastern National in Verona, NY to lay claim to a Hentges Racing dominated Semi-Pro class. Brett ended the day Saturday with a win in Semi-Pro stock which put his signature Polaris machine on top of the podium. Chris took over Sunday with fast qualifying and a stellar fi nal to put his Z1R machine in the top position!
Chris earned his fi rst career Semi-Pro victory while Brett recorded his Fourth win of the season! Along with the victories, Chris fi nished fourteenth in Stock while Brett earned a 12th place fi nish in Open. Bobby also qualifi ed his way into both fi nals with a ninth and fourteenth place fi nish in Semi-Pro Stock and Open respectively.
TJ Gulla was fast all weekend with excellent qualifying. He posted some of the fastest times on the track and fi nished with a sixth in Pro Stock and a 10th in Pro Open. He is sitting in a great spot in points for both classes and is a threat to win any weekend!
Levi LaVallee was injured in the third round of Saturdays Pro Open Class when he had squared up for the holeshot and was hit by another sled which sent him swapping and over the handlebars. Levi hit his throttle lever on the inside of his leg on the way over and was actually pierced by the throttle! He was taken to the hospital with a large silver dollar sized hole in his leg. After the X-Ray, the doctor found his throttle had broken off in his leg! He was able to take starts Sunday and should be racing this weekend in Valcourt Quebec.
