Reed Scores a Close Second after Late Race Battle

Janesville, WI - As the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Season heads into the final stretch, 54,626 fans packed the RCA Dome in Indianapolis to watch the twelfth round of sixteen. James Stewart and Ryan Dungey walked away with each class win. Chad Reed and Ben Townley kept it consistent and crossed the line second in their respected classes.
Dungey rocketed out of the gate in the Supercross Lites Main Event to grab the holeshot while Townley followed closely. Darcy Lange, who won the first Lites heat race in convincing fashion hit some bad luck and went down in the first corner and had to battle back through the field the entire race. Up front, Dungey, Townley and Branded Jesseman pulled away from the rest of the pack. In the early stages of the race, it looked as if Townley was going to make a run for the number one position but after a couple mistakes he had slipped back a few seconds and could never recover to mount another charge. Just as the main started, it had ended with Dungey earning his second victory of the year, Townley gaining valuable points and Jesseman rounding out the podium. Lange battled back from nearly dead last to finish the night in eighth.
With excitement and anticipation levels at the max, the gate dropped for the Supercross Main Event and once again it was Chad Reed grabbing the all important holeshot while Stewart rounded turn one in second to last place. Reedy immediately began distancing himself from the field as Stewart began picking people off. By lap seven, Stewart was in second place while Reed was out front by a straight-away. By lap 14, Stewart and Reed had all 54,000 + on their feet as Stewart made his move into the lead. Reedy fought back for the next couple laps but a couple small mistakes allowed Stewart to edge out another victory. Ivan Tedesco earned himself another top-five finish as well.
