Hughes Out with Broken Arm -Still Leads by 30 Points-
6/14/2006
Washougal, WA (June 9-11,2006) — The seventh round of the World Off Road Championship Series came as a disappointment to series points leader, Ryan Hughes as he broke his arm during the Unlimited class race held on Saturday. Luckily for Ryno, there is a nine week break before the next race in Cinebar, WA. With Ryno out of contention, the race was wide open and Ricky Dietrich was the eventual winner.
Dietrich grabbed the lead and never looked back during the two hour race. Meanwhile the race action was for second, third and fourth. Mike Kiedrowski worked his way into second at the end while THOR rider, Destry Abbott finished his best yet this season with a third. Moose riders, Lance Smail and Bobby Garrison came across the line in fourth and fifth respectively.
Hughes still holds unofficially a 30 point lead going into the break and will do everything possible to come back ready to keep his point lead.
