Moose Riders Run Hard in Havasu

Lake Havasu, AZ (March 17, 2006) — The third round of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Off-Road Championship Series, presented by GPR and Zip-Ty Racing had a couple Supercross Lites West Series contenders by the names of Mike Alessi and Brett Metcalfe show up for the two-hour long battle.
Moose Racing riders Russell Pearson and Bobby Garrison came out of the gate 1-2 with Alessi, Metcalfe and Ricky Dietrich in tow. A few laps in, Alessi grabbed the lead while Garrison and Metcalfe went down leaving Dietrich in second. Dietrich would later have problems as a wreck and a flat tire would relegate him to sixth.
Up front it was still Alessi, Metcalfe and Garrison, but two-time winner this year, Ryan Hughes was on the gas after having a couple wrecks early on. Just after half way, Hughes' clutch went out causing him to ride conservatively though hard enough to get around Garrison at the end.
