Reed Continues to Fight for Championship

Detroit, MI (March 25, 2006) — Round 13 of the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series saw Chad Reed put the pain of his recently separated shoulder behind him and battle it out with Ricky Carmichael in front of 40,101 fans.
Supercross heat one had James Stewart grab the holeshot with Parts Unlimited and THOR rider, Michael Byrne running in second and Travis Preston in third. The top three remained the same as they finished 1-2-3 respectively. After a poor start, Reed was working his way through the pack when he hit a tuff-box, causing him to go down and into the semis'.
Ivan Tedesco grabbed the holeshot in heat two, but Carmichael quickly passed him after the first turn and left everyone to fight for second. Tedesco fell back a few positions and was looking to qualify straight to the main when Heath Voss snuck around him and knocked him out of the last qualifying position.
Michigan native, Nick Wey grabbed the holeshot in the Supercross Main Event but was passed quickly by Stewart and proceeded to check out. The real race was for second as Reed and Carmichael passed each other until about lap 16 when Carmichael put enough distance between the two to take second. Reed's determined ride proved he is not ready to give up and will take the series to Las Vegas if needed.
The Supercross Lites Main Event saw Moose Racing rider, Teddy Maier grab the holseshot but was quickly passed by Bobby Kiniry and eventual winner, Josh Grant. Grant and Davi Millsaps pulled away from the pack while Chris Gosselaar was charging through from a poor start. On the last lap, Kiniry went down in the whoops and handed Gosselaar a well deserved third place finish.
