Dickson Stops OMA Series Regulars

11/7/2005

FENTON, Ill. — Local racer Shea Dickson ran in front for most of round nine of the Parts Unlimited Off-road Motorcycle and ATV Nationals — The Race, presented by Pirelli — and and scored his first win of the series.

Dickson was competing in only his third OMA event of the season and used his local knowledge to finish the event in 1:50:32. Series regulars Curt DeMay and Kevin Tinsley ended up second and third, respectively, in 1:51:00 and 1:52:27.

With one round left in the series and Rob Zimmerman already having clinched the championship, the fight is still tight for second place. DeMay holds a seven-point margin over Tinsley, 147-140, while Lunde sits fourth with 123. That's before throwaways (of which there are three) are factored in. Thus, the finale in Oklahoma could see some changes in the final standings.
